Jessie J eating meat again now she’s pregnant after years of veganism

Jessie J has revealed her pregnancy cravings have taken hold and she is now eating meat again.

The singer, 34, recently showcased her bump at the Brits, and revealed she’s now decided to give her body “what it craves”, having previously adopted a vegan diet following health problems.

Taking to her Instagram Story, she shared a photo of a meaty meal from a Caribbean restaurant, writing alongside it: “Most of my days vegan. Some days really not. Giving my body what it craves.”

Previously, the British singer revealed she underwent a diet change in 2018 and decided to become vegan to help with chronic pain she experienced due to fertility issues.

Speaking to Plant Based News in 2019, she said: "I don’t believe that. All women and men go through fertility issues and it’s something that’s very empowering for me to talk about.

"I had all these tests done, and basically the long and short of it was ‘you manage the pain that you get, or you have to have a hysterectomy.’

"I decided to manage the pain and do it naturally. So four years ago I cut out sugar from my diet to try and stop bacteria from building up in my body.

"Once I cut out sugar I realised how much I began to enjoy food when it was good for me – and it was balancing out everything – my health, my moods, my sleep."

She continued: "I don’t know anything, I go into everything I do saying ‘I do not know anything, I want to learn’…It’s about knowledge and power and gaining understanding from the person that focuses on the food element of veganism, or animal cruelty, or global warming.

"I’m at the beginning of this journey and I’m not speaking out on it because I’m doing everything I can, or doing everything right.

"It’s about me trying to inspire a younger generation to love themselves, love their bodies, and love the world."

The Price Tag singer joyfully announced her pregnancy last month having had a miscarriage in November 2021.

Reflecting on her journey to motherhood, the star wrote on in another Instagram Story on Wednesday, “Sat sobbing putting the pram together, like sobbing loud. Still doesn’t feel real.

"Happy, scared, can’t believe it, excited af, what if I can’t do it, he will be so small, I’m gonna love him so much tears."
