Jesse Tyler Ferguson has lost touch with his TV daughter.
The 49-year-old actor starred as Mitchell Pritchett on the sitcom 'Modern Family' and his character was father to Lily Tucker-Pritchett, but he quipped that in real life, actress Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, 17, has started to ignore his calls.
He told Us Weekly: "I just called her the other day, and it went straight to voicemail. I was like, ‘Oh my god, she sent me to voicemail! I’m calling her, and she’s sending me to voicemail. She’s like, ‘Oh God, my TV dad’s calling me.’
"But you know, she's a different human being."
The Broadway star is still keen to reunite with his former castmates just to see what their alter-egos are doing, nearly five years on from the series ending.
He said: "We’ve been away from these characters for four or five years, like, let’s just drop in and see what’s happening five years later. Maybe Mitch and Cameron still moved away and you want to see these characters together, so it could be around some sort of family reunion."
Aubrey was just four years old when she was cast as Lily on the ABC sitcom and she recently revealed that she was left "troubled" by child stardom.
Speaking on the 'Just Trish' podcast, she told host Trisha Paytas: "I would say wait 'til they know what they want to do. 'Modern Family' has brought me so many blessings into my life, and I'm forever grateful. But I think kids need to have a normal experience and I don't know if that's the way to do it. And I feel like I definitely was more troubled when I became older because of the show."
