Newly appointed Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch has been sent a clear message about who he should be keeping a close eye on at Thorp Arch.
Marsch, appointed last week following Marcelo Bielsa's departure from Elland Road, was unable to pick up any points in his first game in charge as the Whites were beaten 1-0 by Leicester City on Saturday.
Leeds are back in action on Thursday when Aston Villa come to town for Marsch's first home outing in the hot-seat.
Ahead of that fixture, however, former Leeds defender Danny Mills has pinpointed three youngsters who he believes are worthy of a bigger role in the Whites' first-team set-up.
Speaking to Football Insider, Mills said the American head coach should pay particularly close attention to the development of Joe Gelhardt, Charlie Cresswell and Crysencio Summerville.
He said: "All players should be worried. When you get a new manager coming in, you can’t not be worried. You’ve got to understand that he’s a new manager with slightly new ideas.
"He’s also said there will be slightly more squad rotation and not be afraid to throw the youngsters in. Maybe there is going to be a bit more competition for places and that can only be a good thing.
"Gelhardt might come into it a bit more, Summerville and Cresswell both come into reckoning off the back of that and could explode.
“Suddenly, everybody thinks ‘Oh, if I want to play, I’ve got to play a bit better’. The owners will be hoping that comes to fruition."
Mills' comments come shortly after Marsch outlined which of the U23s players he is already aware of at Thorp Arch.
He said: "I'm just getting started. I think if you count Joffy [Gelhardt] as the younger group then yeah, he's been good.
"I think Crysencio's been good in the group, I think Charlie Cresswell comes every day and works really hard, but again I know those players, I know Joffy a little bit from watching the 23s games and first team matches but I need to get to know these young players more to understand what their qualities are and how they can continue to grow."
