Jesse Marsch's positive response to Brentford draw questioned after Leeds United 'lacking' attack claim

Former Premier League striker Chris Sutton has hit out at Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch after the American's positivity following the 0-0 draw against Brentford.

Despite them being without a league win in 2023, the Whites boss called his side's showing: "A strong performance from a lot individuals, so a big positive for me, a big positive."

However, Sutton wasn't as happy with Marsch's side's performance, and asked listening Whites fans if they thought he was the right man for the job.

"Just interesting, listening to Jesse Marsch’s interview after the Brentford game. I thought Leeds played very well," Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live's 606 show.

"Jesse Marsch said it was a complete performance. But it wasn’t a complete performance, Jesse. I mean your team in the final third, they really lacked.

"Leeds fans, I mean, where are you on the manager? Look, I think he’s done a pretty okay job, but are you in a real relegation battle? Do you think that this Leeds team is good enough to stay up?"

Despite Sutton's claims, Leeds have been anything but lacking in the final third in recent weeks - and has arguably been one of their strengths after good showings against West Ham and Cardiff City.
