Jesse Marsch makes big Mikel Arteta claim ahead of Arsenal clash against Leeds

Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch has claimed that Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta is the "most underrated" manager in the Premier League. It comes after the Spaniard has guided his side to an ideal start to the season, sitting top of the table after nine games played so far.

While the Gunners are setting the pace in the division, it has led to plenty of discussion over whether they can challenge for the title this campaign. However, when asked about the possibility of such a feat, the Arsenal boss has declined to comment on it, claiming they are taking it each game at a time.

"Manchester City and Liverpool are really strong," he said when discussing the Premier League title. "They've shown that for five years and we haven't done any of that."

Should they wish to keep their momentum, the Gunners will have to overcome Leeds United as their next challenge in the Premier League on Sunday. The Peacocks have had to sell a number of key players in the summer and have since rebuilt, proving they can cause problems such as their victory over Chelsea earlier this campaign.

Heading into the clash, Marsch was full of praise for the job done by his opposite number, saying: "Arteta is the most-underrated manager in the league. He has built a complex, exciting team.

"It has taken time, a lot of pressure, now we are seeing the fruits of his labour. It would be huge to get something. But we are confident."

With five huge league games facing Arsenal before the break for the World Cup, they will certainly be hoping that excitement can continue when they head to Elland Road at the weekend.
