Jesse Marsch admits Leeds United can not afford to repeat their mistakes in transition against Manchester City when they face Newcastle United on New Year's Eve. The Whites suffered defeat on their return to competitive action, with a brace from Erling Haaland and Rodri's opener sealing a 3-1 away victory for the defending champions.
Marsch has already bemoaned his side's schedule, with Newcastle being afforded two more days to rest and prepare ahead of the clash at St James' Park. However, the Leeds boss is confident the return of USA international Tyler Adams will prove to be a 'major boost'.
Eddie Howe's side are chasing a seventh straight league win ahead of a top-of-the-table clash at league leaders Arsenal on January 3. Marsch is wary of Newcastle's strengths in the final third and their threat from wide areas, and is preparing for a different tactical challenge than the one posed by City in their last outing.
