Former Manchester United man Jesse Lingard remains without a club following his summer release from Nottingham Forest.
The midfielder came through the ranks at Old Trafford and scored in the 2016 FA Cup final win over Crystal Palace. But his career at United petered out and while he impressed during a 2021 loan spell at West Ham United which earned him an England recall, his spell at Forest saw limited appearances.
He did play an important role off the field as Steve Cooper’s side secured Premier League safety. But he managed only 12 top-flight starts and the club opted against taking up the option of extending his contract by an extra year.
It means Lingard is on the hunt for a new club and he’s been linked with a move to America. The 30-year-old has spoken of his business interests in the States and having been linked with DC United, a report that was shot down by his former United teammate and current DC boss Wayne Rooney, speculation suggested he could be joining David Beckham-owned Inter Miami.

Lingard was spotted at the club’s training ground amid the links. But now sources have told the Miami Herald that a move is not in the offing, with the appearance for a sponsor rather than any transfer hint.
Lionel Messi is close to joining Miami having left PSG with the deal just needing to be formally announced. But local sources say that his former Barcelona teammate Sergio Busquets will not be following the Argentina World Cup winner to the States.
Beckham and co-owner Jorge Mas have spoken about trying to bring some of the world's best talent to the club and tying that in with nurturing their own talent through the academy. Mas, speaking earlier this year, said: "We have been preparing for Messi's arrival in 2023, and we have left a huge amount of flexibility in the accounts. We will make more signings this summer, more than people expect."
He added: "We don't have to revolutionise the squad, but I can say we will potentially make between three and five signings."
