Antonio Conte will be hoping his side can take momentum from their 5-0 victory over Everton, on their travels to face Man United on Saturday.
Both sides are still very much battling for a top four spot and although the Red Devils are two places above Tottenham, it is only by two points and the Lilywhites have two games in hand.
Ralf Rangnick's side will be coming into the fixture on the back of a 4-1 defeat to Man City and a couple of extra days' rest on Spurs.
However, both sides will know the fight needed to salvage a result and it will be an interesting tie, with both teams experiencing a change in manager since Tottenham's 3-0 defeat to United earlier in the season.
Two players who may be looking to impress the north London club, if they play on Saturday, are Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford.
Both players are struggling for regular match minutes under Rangnick and could seek a potential move when the summer transfer window opens.
During the January window, football.london reported that Spurs had sounded out Lingard's camp over a potential move for the summer and were going to explore the option of a winter move, although the latter never became a reality.
The 29-year-old had a successful loan spell at West Ham last year, getting game time in every Premier League match he featured in, scoring nine goals and registering five assists.
This season, Lingard has returned to the Manchester outfit and been on and off the bench in the league, scoring just two goals in 13 appearances.
Having the success he did with the Irons and then having to make the move back to a club where he now isn't being played, there is likely to be frustration.
Former United player, Rio Ferdinand, has given his verdict on the attacker's situation.
"Jesse’s situation… he doesn’t want be there. Simple as that," Ferdinand explained on FIVE, via The Boot Room.
"I believe he deserves an opportunity when he came up from West Ham. This team weren’t playing well enough to keep him out, I don’t think.
"There was no-one you go, ‘oh they’re much better than Jesse’," the 43-year-old added.
"What he [did] at West Ham, I think he warranted a chance of playing because the team weren’t pulling up crazy numbers.
"Are you going to play someone like him or just let him go, man? But there’s other stuff behind the scenes I’m sure that’s going on we don’t know about, so it’s hard for us to kind of judge it."
Rashford is another United player whose future could be facing some uncertainty and could also spark interest from Spurs.
The England international has started just nine of the 20 Premier League matches he has featured in so far this season, scoring four goals and registering two assists.
Some reports, including from the Manchester Evening News, are now suggesting the 24-year-old isn't too happy at his current club and is considering his future, which may also be why he has been linked with a move to a number of Premier League clubs.
Harry Kane seems back to his old form at Spurs, after a slow start to the season, but some are still questioning his future in N17 and he may also be doing the same, depending on where his side finish in the league.
"I guess we will see over the next 12 games where we are as a team and where we are as a squad," the England captain admitted after the 5-0 victory over Everton on Monday. "Where we finish in the league will be the ultimate test."
If Kane did end up leaving in the summer, could this be another reason for Tottenham to pursue a move for Rashford?
Rashford is valued between €90million and €120million (£75.5m to £100.6m) by the CIES Football Observatory, while Lingard becomes a free agent in the summer, reducing the overall cost for Spurs for both players.
The moves for both players are likely to depend on how United and Tottenham finish the season, how the managerial situation pans out in Manchester and who Conte wants to target in the summer.
The tie between the Lilywhites and Rangnick's side on Saturday could be a great opportunity for both to try and impress the opposition, if they are chosen to play.
Producing a solid display could show not just the Italian, but also Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy what they could bring to a Tottenham side, if they were to leave during the summer.
