With the signing of James Tarkowski confirmed and the sadness regarding the departure of Everton favourite Richarlison, Frank Lampard and director of football Kevin Thelwell continue to work behind the scenes to prepare for transfer business this summer.
The duo will have to work smart, with funds reportedly tight at Goodison Park as Everton continue to deal with Financial Fair Play barometers and manage the move to their future Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.
With a number of fringe players under contract, and unlikely to be moved on due to their wages, the Blues may have to compromise in some of their summer business.

However, they continue to be linked with a host of new faces along with speculation regarding departures from the club. So who are the bookmakers tipping the Blues to sign? We’ve taken a look at Oddschecker to see the five likeliest transfers to Goodison Park, according to the odds.
Jesse Lingard 6/5
As revealed by the ECHO on Friday, Everton are considering a move for Jesse Lingard. The 29-year-old is a free agent after leaving Manchester United and the ECHO understands that talks have taken place.
With the potential acquisition of the 32-time England international on a free transfer, and the modest budget reportedly on offer for Lampard, it is no surprise that he is the player Everton are most likely to sign according to the bookies with odds of 6/5. However, West Ham United, where Lingard enjoyed an impressive loan spell during the 2020/21 season, are favourites at 3/2 to add the midfielder to their squad.
Harry Winks 2/1
Another player the ECHO understands is of interest to Everton, Winks is 2/1 to sign for the Toffees. The midfielder is believed to be receptive to a move away from Tottenham Hotspur and is keen to return to playing regularly after being frozen out by Antonio Conte at last season.
The midfielder made just 19 Premier League appearances during the 2021/22 campaign, starting in just nine of those games, the last of which was a February win over Leed Uniteds. However, perhaps influenced by the reported interest in the player from Leeds and Southampton, Winks’ odds have increased from when he was 1/4 to move to Goodison earlier this week.
Oleksandr Zinchenko 2/1
The 25-year-old is reportedly set to depart ManchesterCity this summer after being a member of four title-winning teams. A natural midfielder, but employed at left-back for Pep Guardiola’s side, Zinchenko is keen to prove himself as a Premier League centre-midfielder after impressing there for Ukraine during their World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Wales in June.
Everton are 2/1 to sign him as Lampard continues to look to reshape the spine of his team. There are also vacancies in midfielder after Fabian Delph departed the club, and Donny van de Beek returned to Manchester United following the end of his loan spell.
Dwight McNeil 4/1
McNeil is someone the Blues continued to be linked with. The winger endured a disappointing campaign with zero goals and only one assist as Burnley were relegated but he is still highly-rated. Vincent Kompany has begun to reshape his squad since taking over at Turf Moor and with the financial implications of Burnley’s leveraged takeover by ALK Capital beginning to become clear, McNeil, at just 22, and with 134 appearances to his name, is one of the Clarets' most saleable assets.
The former Manchester United youngster is 4/1 to sign for the Toffees as Lampard looks to find creative wide players to fill the void left by the departing Richarlison.
Conor Gallagher 9/2
Probably the most sought-after Premier League loan signing this transfer window, Gallagher continues to be linked with Everton after a superb season at Crystal Palace. The young midfielder is expected to spend pre-season with his parent club Chelsea, but with the World Cup on the horizon, and Gallagher having only recently broken into the England squad, he will be desperate to ensure he secures first team football to boost his chances of featuring in Qatar.
At 9/2, Everton are one of a number of clubs tipped to sign Gallagher, but Newcastle United are favourites at 4/1. There is also a strong likelihood he could remain at Stamford Bridge next season as Thomas Tuchel looks to build under the new ownership of the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital group.
