I need very little encouragement to cut my hair. In fact, it’s my firm belief that everyone could do with a good haircut — myself included. So when Jesinta Franklin debuted a new sleek bob on Instagram yesterday, I let out a big sigh.
There’s not much Franklin can do that won’t make me mutter, “ugh, perfection” to myself quietly, but her new bob is particularly gorgeous. The bob was cut by Melbourne-based hairstylist Marie Uva, who is responsible for tending to other Aussie celebs’ locks, like Maria Thattil, Carrie Bickmore, and Megan Gale.
Franklin’s jawline-skimming cut is fresh and sharp. And if you’ve committed to the big chop in the past, you can feel how light Franklin feels through the phone.
For the last couple of years, Franklin has worn her hair longer, though we’ll always remember her blunt bob and pixie cut eras. It appears she’s a short-haired woman at heart and is doing the most to inspire us to lop off the lengths we’ve spent the past years painstakingly growing.
When speaking to ELLE Australia in 2019, shortly after cutting a pixie style, she admitted that she loved the shorter look but wanted to grow it slightly.
“It’s so easy. I think I might grow it out a tiny bit, because it’s very short at the moment, just for something different,” she said. “But, I really love it. It’s just so easy—even just washing it, styling it, it reduces the amount of time it takes me to get ready when I do hair and makeup. I love it, it’s very easy.”
We’re inclined to go out on a limb and say that a polished bob is Franklin’s signature look, and while we love the longer and shorter styles on her, this in-between cut is pure and utter perfection. Now, you’ll have to excuse me while I get Anthony Nader on the blower because I’m suddenly due for a snip.
