Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, whose team defeated the New York Giants, 20-15, on Thursday night had some complimentary words for his opponents after the game.
Jones appeared to be pleased with not only his team’s performance but the Giants’ as well, especially quarterback Daniel Jones.
“I was very impressed with the Giants,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. “I thought their quarterback was better than I thought he was. They were a tough matchup. I was impressed.
“I thought we did a heck of a job defending their run. … I’m tickled to death.”
Jones played another clean game (until his final pass, which was picked off), completing 29 of 40 passes for 281 yards. He could not get the Giants in the end zone, however, and they fell short for the third time in four games.
“Very frustrating. Very frustrating,” Jones said of the red zone failures.
“We’re expected to score touchdowns and put points on the board. And in a game that I felt like we were able to do a lot and move the ball well and execute a lot of stuff well, we didn’t execute the red zone stuff and didn’t punch it in so that’s frustrating.”
That aside the Giants played another game that could have won and people are noticing they are a better team these days.
