Jeremy Vine's Channel 5 talk show taken off air after power cuts

Jeremy Vine's Channel 5 TV programme has been forced off air this morning after a power shortage at ITN Productions.

The daily talk show, which sees two guests join journalist and broadcaster Jeremy and co-presenter Storm Huntley discuss the latest headlines was replaced with re-runs of Million Pound Home and The Yorkshire Vet after a power cut on Monday morning (4 April).

The power and the back-up generator reportedly failed early and staff at ITN Productions reportedly received an email at 8.30am which said there had been “significant power outage” at the building in Gray’s Inn Road in central London.

On Twitter, Vine posted a picture of himself and co-host Storm with confused looks on their faces and added the caption: “Sorry to say, we didn’t make it to air today.

"Questions will be asked of the emergency generator, and the emergency backup generator. But nice to get some quality catch-up time with my esteemed co-presenter @StormHuntley. Thanks to @AliMirajUK and @NinaMyskow for being there."

Earlier in the morning, a hopeful Vine tweeted a picture from the reception at the Channel 5 show's studios adding: “Power cut @ITNProductions so we are all in reception. Here’s hoping @JeremyVineOn5 is with you at 0915.”

It is understood that tests are continuing in the hope that power can be reinstated - it is not known whether the power cut will affect the ITV lunchtime news bulletin.
