Jeremy Vine returned to work with a black eye this morning after falling off his penny-farthing earlier this month.
The presenter, 56, had an accident on the vintage bicycle - that dates back to the late 19th century - and was rushed to hospital after being knocked unconscious.
The cycling enthusiast has previously appeared on Channel 5 's The Jeremy Vine Show by video link but he returned to the studio this morning.
Jeremy reminded viewers what happened in the accident as he showed off his black eye and thanked them for their well wishes.
He said that it was "so nice" to have received messages of support from viewers, who he added had actually encouraged him "not to ever get on the bicycle again."
Jeremy said: "It was so nice of all of you to send best wishes and encourage me not to ever get on a bicycle again."
The broadcaster said that he was "okay" after the accident and has even been back on his penny-farthing.
He explained that he went out on it yesterday because he was "trying to work out exactly what went wrong" when he had his accident during the previous weekend.
His co-host Storm Huntley, 34, didn't understand why he would get back on it, asking: "Isn't it a sign of madness to do the same thing and expect a different result?"
Jeremy however said that although riders are "eight foot in the air," the bicycle is "perfectly safe." He said that he had made the mistake of going on grass, where he hit a divot.
He further commented this morning: "[It's] perfectly safe going down the road. As long as it's smooth, it's okay. You just don't want to hit a divot, a pothole or a drain cover."

Storm teased that there are "plenty" of these on roads, though Jeremy stated that he "cannot see the latest fatality on a penny-farthing," suggesting that its rare.
His co-presenter responded: "That's cause nobody is mad enough to get on them. There's a reason why bikes have been de-scaled and wheels are now equal sizes."
The Jeremy Vine Show airs weekdays on Channel 5 from 9.15am. Catch-up on previous episodes through My5.
