Jeremy Renner seen WALKING for first time since horrifying snow plough accident

Jeremy Renner is defying all odds as he continues his recovery from his horror accident on New Year's Day.

The actor, 52, posted a video to social media which stunned his followers as he showed himself walking on an "anti-gravity treadmill".

Taking to Instagram, the Hawkeye star shared a clip of him completing a walking on the hi-tech equipment as he continued his physical therapy sessions.

Jeremy, who was crushed by a snow plough, broke over 30 bones in his body and was in intensive care following rounds of surgery.

His injuries came as he had been attempting to save his nephew from being crushed. The actor sustained blunt chest trauma, orthopaedic injuries as well as dozens of broken bones.

He showed an impressive recovery to date, but with doctors saying he's likely to require intensive rehab sessions for months, it's a long journey ahead for the star.

However, Jeremy was seen telling Les Garland how the state-of-the-art device he was using allowed him to feel less weight, as though he was walking with a cane.

Les, who strategises the delivery of Jeremy's music to the world under Record Street Music. replied: "That's seriously cool. And you're totally doing the walking motion."

Jeremy agreed, adding: "Correct, exactly. It's 40 percent of my weight."

Sharing the same clip on his official Twitter account, he captioned the upload: "I now have to find OTHER things to occupy my time so my body can recover from my will. #minduful #intended #recovery."

His followers were quick to praise his progress in the comments section, with one user gushing: "Finally we can see you on your two feet. This is the greatest happiest news since the terrible accident. What a willpower."

Another echoed the sentiment, saying: "OMG look at you go so very proud of you keep up the great work. I am so impressed."

Jeremy has been keeping his followers up to date with his progress and last week shared the first image of the huge snow plough that almost crushed him to death.

He explained how the vehicle has now been returned to his home, telling his followers: "She's finally making her way home!"

He then posted a video of the plough driving up the road with a police car. He wrote: "The cat get [sic] a police escort... Feels like the Green Mile."
