Jeremy Renner ’s sister Kym has issued an update about his condition.
Marvel star Jeremy broke his silence after being airlifted to hospital with critical injuries following an horrific incident which saw him reportedly 'run over' by a snow plough.
The Hollywood actor, 51, reportedly had his life saved by a neighbouring doctor after he was left in a 'critical condition' on Sunday when he was reportedly ' helping a stranded motorist ' before the horror incident which left him in intensive care.
The safety feature on his Snow Cat plough reportedly failed and sent it rolling over one of his legs.
The Avengers star has undergone two surgeries and remains in intensive care after he suffered 'blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries' in the horror weather-related accident.
Taking to Instagram to update fans on his health after the incident, Jeremy broke his silence before his sister Kym issued another update on his condition.
Jeremy posted a bruised selfie on Instagram on Tuesday, showing him looking weary with oxygen tubes in his nose.
Dressed in a hospital gown, he managed to snap a selfie before thanking fans for their well wishes.
"Thank you all for your kind words," he wrote. "I'm too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all."
Despite Jeremy revealing that he's 'too messed up' to type, his sister told fans that their family is delighted with his progress after the horror accident.
“We are so thrilled with his progress,” she said. “If anyone knows Jeremy, he is a fighter and doesn’t mess around. He is crushing all the progress goals. We couldn’t feel more positive about the road ahead.”
Following Jeremy's Instagram snap of the Marvel star lying in a hospital bed, famous faces rushed to share their well wishes.
One of the first to comment on Jeremy's snap was fellow Marvel star Chris Pratt, 43.
The actor, who played Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, wrote: "Continued prayers your way brutha."
Chris Hemsworth - Marvel's Thor - was also on hand to comment, writing: "Speedy recovery buddy. Sending love your way!"
Captain America actor Chris Evans wrote: "Tough as nails. Love you buddy," while The Lord Of The Rings star Orlando Bloom penned: "Sending prayers brah."
Elsewhere, DJ Steve Aoki, who wrote: "Brother u r a superhero to all of us. U will get through this with flying colors. Love and positive energy to u!"
And model Heidi Klum sent a comment saying: "Speedy recovery," while Penelope Cruz sent a single love heart emoji.
Jeremy was reported to have been ploughing the road close to his family property near the Mt Rose-Ski Tahoe resort near Lake Tahoe, which is approximately 25 miles from Reno, Nevada, when disaster struck.
The star is said to have been trying to help free a family member's vehicle following a "massive storm" on New Year's Eve.
According to reports, a Snow Cat ploughing machine was responsible for the actor's injuries, causing him to lose 'a lot of blood' and suffer 'extensive' injuries.
On Tuesday, his representatives told TMZ: "Jeremy is making positive progress and is awake, talking and in good spirits. He remains in ICU in critical but stable condition. He is overwhelmed by the showing of love and support.
"The family asks for your continued thoughts while he heals with his close loved ones."
