The unthinkable happened on last night's episode of ITV's Who Wants to Be A Millionaire - outspoken Jeremy Clarkson was rendered speechless by a contestant. It happened after a hopeful on the show broke a 14-year-old record, wowing both the host and the audience.
The show started as usual, however, with six new contestants being told that if they wanted a chance to win £1m they'd have to come top of ' Fastest Finger First ' opening qualifier. At which point Clarkson asked the players to put four birds in order from the heaviest to the lightest weight.
The options were ostrich, hummingbird, blackbird and chicken. Three of the six contestants answered the question in the correct order - ostrich, chicken, blackbird, hummingbird.

Nevertheless , Clarkson was gobsmacked that contestant Michelle Brook had answered in a lightning fast 0.74 seconds. Sharing in the audience's round of applause, the host was initially speechless.
Then, as Michelle took a seat, he said: "I can't believe that, that's less than a second. Well, we've established that your fingers work very well, but what about this?", he added, pointing to his brain.
Michelle replied: "Hopefully the adrenaline will help, we'll see how we go." And, while it wasn't announced on the show, Michelle's time of 0.74 seconds actually set a new record on the programme.
It was previously held by UK contestant Jonathan Pash who achieved a time of 0.97 seconds back in May 2008. That said, a contestant on the Spanish version of the show currently holds the world record - Emilia Busquets answered Fastest Finger First in an unbelievable 0.06 seconds in November 1999.
