Jeremy Clarkson has spoken out following the BBC cancelling the next series of Top Gear. The popular BBC show was cancelled after Freddie Flintoff’s horror crash.
The former host was axed from the show before signing an Amazon Prime Video deal to host The Grand Tour along with James May and Richard Hammond. They were then replaced by Flintoff and Paddy McGuinness, reports Birmingham Live.
Jeremy took to his column in The Sun newspaper to beg for the show to be saved. Speaking about Flintoff, Clarkson wrote: "I can quite understand why he would choose to do something else in future."

He continued to write that the crash sounded “horrific” and added that "it will take a very long time before he's fully recovered". Jeremy wrote that he would like bosses to save Top Gear, saying: "I do hope, however, that my old mates who run the show can find a way of saving it."
Along with Paddy and Freddie, Top Gear is also hosted by journalist Chris Harris. BBC Studios has apologised to Top Gear presenter Flintoff following its investigation into his filming accident in Surrey and said it will not resume production on the latest series of the show.
The statement added that the corporation "will continue to support" Flintoff "with his recovery". It also said: "Under the circumstances, we feel it would be inappropriate to resume making series 34 of Top Gear at this time. We understand this will be disappointing for fans, but it is the right thing to do, and we'll make a judgment about how best to continue later this year.
"This has also impacted the production team, who we continue to support. Finally there will be a health and safety review of the show, in line with our procedures." Flintoff, 45, was taken to hospital after being involved in an accident while shooting for the hit motoring show at the Top Gear test track at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey in December.
