Jeremy Clarkson forced to apologise after wrong answer costs Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? contestant £7000

Jeremy Clarkson was left “embarrassed” after he got a question wrong on Who Wants to Be A Millionaire, as he issued an apology to a contestant.

Contestant Jamie Eidman asked for Clarkson’s help when she became stuck on a question during Sunday’s show (7 June). If she got the question wrong, she would lose the £8,000 she had banked and leave with £1,000.

After Clarkson told her what he thought the answer was, the pair were left dismayed when the correct answer was revealed.

"Oh, jeez! Well, that's annoying and embarrassing," he said.

After Eidman told him not to worry, he replied: “It's not fine, is it, because you've just lost £7,000 and it's all my fault.”
