Jennifer Wilson dies 89: Tributes for Coronation Street and Casualty star

Actress Jennifer Wilson has died aged 89 at her home in France, according to a family friend.

The late star was best known for her roles in Coronation Street and Casualty. Her most recent acting role saw her play Nancy Milne in BBC soap Doctors, until 2015.

She also had roles in hit 70s shows The Brothers and Special Branch. Wilson became a household name after her roles as Mrs Bradbury in Corrie and Lily Compton in Casualty.

Her 50 year television career began in 1955 with a role in TV movie Marie Tussaud. Soon after, in 1959, she married the actor Brian Peck who sadly died last year.

The cause of her death is not yet known. The Mirror reports a family friend said she died at her home.
