Jennifer Lopez 'open to whatever' in her career

Jennifer Lopez doesn't put restrictions on her career

Jennifer Lopez is “open to whatever” in her acting career.

The ‘Unstoppable’ star doesn’t believe in only sticking to one genre of film and so long as the character is “great”, she doesn’t care how big a part in the movie she would play.

She told Britain’s OK! magazine: “The thing with me is that I’ve never thought that I only want to do this type of movie or that type of movie.

“I’ve always let myself be open to whatever. I’ll do a musical. I’ll do a drama. I’ll do a small movie. I’ll do a big movie. I’ll do a small part. I’ll do a bigger part.

“You know, I’ll do a romantic comedy. Thrillers. It doesn’t matter to me.

“The opportunity to play a great character and to continue doing what I love is really the motivation for me.

“There’s nothing really too much beyond that.”

While the 55-year-old actress admits there are times she should have been “more selective” about the jobs she accepted, Jennifer has very few regrets.

She said: “As I think back on my career, maybe at times I should have been more selective.

“Maybe I should have waited for this director or done this thing or that, but this is my journey.

“They is the one that I’m on and I’ve done it and I made all the choices myself.

“And you know, some work and some don’t – but that’s not the point.

“The point is, I got to do all that and I really loved it.

“I can think of maybe one or two movies out of the 50 or 60 I’ve made where I felt, ‘Ugh, maybe I wouldn’t have done that. That was no fun.’ But it’s so few. Like 0.001%.

“The rest, I’d do it all over again.”

Jennifer can next be seen in ‘Unstoppable’ as Judy Robles, the mother of real-life wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg but overcame adversity to reach his sporting dream.

And she admitted being a parent to 16-year-old twins Max and Emme – who she has with ex-husband Marc Anthony – helped inform her performance.

She said: “Obviously being a mother helped me understand it more.

“If I had played her not being a mother it would’ve maybe been a very different performance from me.

"But being a mom and understanding what it is to want the best for your children and to put them before you is something we obviously connected on.”
