Jennifer Aniston is said to have been left "reeling" from Matthew Perry's sudden death aged 54 and is "struggling" to process it.
She starred with Perry for 10 years on hit TV sitcom Friends, but they had known each other for three years prior to being cast as Rachel Green and Chandler Bing respectively, and they remained close long after the cameras stopped rolling.Perry died on October 28 in an apparent drowning in the outdoor hot tub at his Los Angeles home.
He spoke openly about his struggles with alcohol and substance addiction, something which he admitted Aniston had confronted him about in the past. While he is believed to have been clean around the time of his death, an official cause of death is awaiting toxicology reports.
Last Friday, Aniston joined their other Friends co-stars Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer to say a last farewell at Perry's funeral, where an onlooker told Mail Online that she "kept to herself".
Now, a source close to her has given an insight into how she is doing, saying: “Out of the remaining five, Jen and Courteney are reeling the most, and Jen is probably the one who is struggling most acutely.
“It’s a second massive loss in less than a year, with the one-year anniversary of her dad’s death just around the corner. She still hasn’t fully regained her footing from that, and now this has just completely knocked her off her feet," they added to Page Six.
Aniston confirmed that her dad, Days Of Their Lives actor John Aniston, had died aged 89 in November 2022.
Paying tribute to her parent online, she described him as “one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew.”
