Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox ate the same salad every day for 10 years while filming Friends.
Rachel Green actress Jennifer, 53, made the meal for Monica Gellar star Courtney, 58, and their co-star Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay but has never revealed the ingredients. And fans have been wondering what was inside of the decade-long lunch in order to try it for themselves.
And recently, a TikTok video went viral as the recipe of the infamous Jen-An salad was revealed. Videos on the social media platform claim the meal consists on bulgur, diced cucumbers, parsley, mint, red onion, garbanzo beans, crumbled feta cheese, and chopped pistachios.
But, Jennifer has since put a dampener on the claims and revealed the ingredients included were nothing like the salads she and Courtney had enjoyed for so long.
Friends icon Jennifer told Shape last week: "I'm sorry, I feel like I'm disappointing everybody, but that's not my salad."
Jennifer added: "It looks delicious, but it's not the salad that I had on Friends."
The actress, who recently made a rare comment abutter divorce from Brad Pitt, finally shared the real ingredients of the dish which she said was "totally different" to the viral videos' claims.
Jennifer explained she made the salad from shredded lettuce, chicken, egg whites, a couple of garbanzo beans, bacon, and a basic vinaigrette.
Occasionally, Jennifer would also add pecorino cheese from a nearby Italian restaurant to top it off, too.
The actress has been known for her strict eating habits over the years, but insisted in the same interview it's all about balance as she added: "Focus on really being good to yourself but also allow yourself the moments of indulgence."
The legend of Jennifer's salad first spread in 2010, when Courtney first mentioned the dish in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.
She revealed: "Jennifer and Lisa [Kudrow] and I ate lunch together every single day for 10 years. And we always had the same thing — a Cobb salad.
"But it wasn't really a Cobb salad. It was a Cobb salad that Jennifer doctored up with turkey bacon and garbanzo beans and I don't know what."
Courtney added at the time: "She just has a way with food, which really helps.
"Because if you're going to eat the same salad every day for 10 years, it'd better be a good salad right?"
It comes after Jennifer paid an emotional tribute to her Days of our Lives actor John Aniston at the Daytime Emmy Awards.
Appearing on screen she said the moment is a "truly special moment for me" and added: "It's an opportunity to not only pay tribute to a true icon in the daytime television world, but it's also a chance to recognise the lifelong achievements of a great and well-respected actor, who also happens to be my dad."
She added: "John Aniston has been working in television consistently for over half a century. You name it, I'm sure he's been on it."
