She is Astrid, the daughter of Lydia, the character interpreted by Winona Ryder in "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice," the second installment of director Tim Burton's iconic film.
Ortega and Ryder are the main characters in the trailer released today. It confirms the film's premiere for September 6 of this year and begins with Astrid riding through town on a bicycle on her way to what appears to be a funeral. At the cemetery, she meets her mother and grandmother.
