Wednesday Addams has been welcomed with open arms (at which she would likely scorn) by all who have seen Netflix’s new dark comedy series.
The hashtag #wednesdaynetflix has been trending upon its release, with plenty of fans binge-watching all eight episodes already.

The smart and sarcastic high schooler, who has to switch schools for murdering a child (or two) at her last institution, is played by Jenna Ortega (who was previously seen in You) – with a stamp of approval from the original Wednesday, Christina Ricci, who also stars.
Although, speaking to Jimmy Kimmel on the Late Night Show, Ortega said that she freaked out Ricci with her dark sense of humour: “I made it weird.”
She added: “But she’s a sweetheart. Like, if it hadn’t been for her being so generous and professional and impressive as an individual... I think I was able to get over myself within the first couple of days.”
Critics and fans alike are raving at Ortega’s stellar performance as Wednesday Addams and director Tim Burton’s take on the antithetical nuclear American family in 2022.

One user said: “I just finished watching the first episode of Wednesday and god I love it [so much]. Jenna is so perfect as Wednesday and the fencing scenes are so good.”
While another added: “Have an awful Wednesday everyone. See ya [sic] when I’ve finished every single episode.”
Joining her onscreen are fellow castmates Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams.
At the school for misfits and supernatural Nevermore Academy is the bright and bubbly Enid Sinclair, played by Emma Myers, who seems to be another breakout star from the show.
The fact that Wednesday and Enid are both my personalities just depending on what kind of day I'm having 😅#wednesdaynetflix pic.twitter.com/PSJBYCHliW

One commentor felt a particular connection to both characters. They said: “The fact that Wednesday and Enid are both my personalities [is] just depending on what kind of day I’m having.”
And, as opposites go, the magnetism between Sinclair and Addams has fans wishing for more: think, sunlight meets moonlight.
Last thing: Wednesday and Enid are not romantically involved in any way. They both have lots of male love interests. Just wanted to get that out of the way. Sorry, don't kill the messenger.
