Jeff Hendrick has explained why he wanted to 'get out' of Newcastle United and return to the Championship with Queens Park Rangers on deadline day.
The 30-year-old has found game time hard to come by this season, starting one Premier League game but has played just 10 minutes of football under Eddie Howe.
Hendrick has struggled since joining the Magpies from Burnley on a free transfer in August 2020, featuring just 22 times in all competitions in Steve Bruce's final full campaign at the helm.
After failing to cement a regular place in the side, Hendrick has decided to leave Newcastle and join QPR as he searches for more minutes with Mark Warburton's men.
The former Derby County man will spend the reason of the season with The R's, who currently sit fourth in the second tier, just two points off the automatic promotion places.

It could be a transfer that works out for both parties and Hendrick has claimed he has been 'disappointed' with his game time this term, admitting he wanted to get out and play matches.
"Anyone who knows me will know I will be disappointed with the game time I have got this season," Hendrick told the QPR website. "So I wanted to get out, get games and enjoy my football.
"I wasn’t just going to sit around. A big thing for me is to push myself and enjoy my football."
Newcastle finished the transfer window with five new additions and it's safe to say Howe will be pleased with their business.
Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood made the move earlier in the month, before Bruno Guimaraes joined on a four-and-a-half year deal from Lyon in a deal worth around £33million plus add ons.
The 24-year-old's arrival was the Magpies' most expensive of the window, with Matt Targett signing on loan from Aston Villa and Dan Burn for £13million both on deadline day.
It took Newcastle's spending to £93million in January despite missing out on a deal for Hugo Ekiteke and Jesse Lingard in the final hours of the winter market.
Newcastle currently sit inside the bottom three, just a point behind 17th-place Norwich City ahead of the final 17 matches of the season.
