Jeff Brazier says Jade Goody's death led him to 'absolute chaos and crisis'

Jeff Brazier spoke about the "absolute chaos" he faced in the wake of Jade Goody's death.

The presenter said he and the sons he shared with his former partner Jade were thrown into "crisis" after she died of cervical cancer.

Speaking on GB News with Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster he said: “I think, for anyone that loses someone, whether it's a parent, or whether you're losing anyone, you're in crisis, you're in absolute chaos.

“And it's not a time for really sitting there and kind of thinking logically and rationally about your future and what the plan is.

"It's something that takes years to find your feet again, or to even feel like you are sort of even halfway there."

The 42-year-old said his mental health got so bad that he had to turn to a charity for help.

“Without Grief encounter I guess I wouldn't have done the job that I think I've done with the boy. We have so much to be grateful for. And that's why I always fundraise for them.”

Jeff shares sons Freddie and Bobby with Jade, who passed away in 2009 following a battle with cervical cancer.

Speaking about the charity, he added: “They understand about their fortunate position - and it sounds strange for me to say the fortunate position but the fortunate position, they're really where they have the ability to give back and they enjoy doing things like that.”

“I hosted a walk and talk event where 80 people came along on Mother's Day. I'm proud to do those things.

"And I'm proud that the boys want to be a part of those things because I just think that that makes us fairly decent human beings…”

The dad-of-two is raising awareness by walking across south Essex.

He said that he felt that people needed to "reconnect" after the Coronavirus pandemic.
