The reason behind Jeff Brazier 's split from his wife has reportedly been revealed.
Dad-of-two Jeff, 43, earlier today broke the news he and Kate Dwyer, 32, had called time on their nine-year romance as he opened up about feeling lonely and struggling to adapt to his new life.
The former Shipwrecked star shared a selfie of himself smiling as he told his Instagram followers how his "relationship ended earlier in the year and I’ve been working through that on top of supporting someone close to me who is going through something difficult."
Jeff, who shared two sons with the late Big Brother legend Jade Goody, tied the knot with Kate in 2018 with his boys acting as best men on the happy occasion.
It's now been reported Kate actually left the home she shared with Jeff eight weeks ago, amid telling friends she 'didn't want to be a stay at home wife'.
Jeff, who raised sons Bobby, 19, and Freddie, 18, following ex Jade's death in in 2009, last shared a picture of Kate to his main Instagram page back in July. The PR executive has not featured in any of his grid posts since.
Captioning a picture of him and Kate for her birthday five months ago, Jeff wrote: "Happy Birthday to my wonderful wife @katebrazierpr I look forward to making it a special day for you."
Kate's last social media post involving Jeff came last year, as she shared a family snap on Christmas Day.
"Jeff is a homebird and is into spiritualism. Kate doesn’t want to be the kind of wife who stays at home, she likes to go out and be sociable," a source close to Kate has claimed to The Sun when discussing the split.
"As time passed it became clear they had grown apart."
Jeff announced the end of his marriage with a lengthy statement about 'a challenging year' on Instagram, which reads: "A moment to practice what I preach and start the new week with honesty.
"One for the smilers and eternally positive individuals who don’t often afford themselves the right to share their own vulnerabilities," he wrote.
"I have so much to be grateful for and I appreciate facing the lessons I need to grow but this year has been challenging to say the least."
He continued to reveal: "My 9 year relationship ended earlier in the year and I’ve been working through that on top of supporting someone close to me who is going through something difficult.
"The boys and I have recently moved home to a new area & I spend most of the time alone as the boys obviously have their own things going on.
"It’s been constant change this year and I’m good with adapting but the combination of things have left me low at times and I’ve honestly never felt loneliness like it. Can we put Christmas back a few months?!
"I have lots of great friends and I know they’re a phone call away but sometimes I find it hard to admit I’m struggling with all of the change preferring just to keep working through it myself. I’m a bit too good at that."
Jeff concluded the candid post saying: "There was always going to come a day when the boys didn’t want or need me so much and I thought I’d be more than ok with having all this time on my hands!"
The former reality TV star and Kate had been together since 2013 and tied the knot in 2018. The former couple lived with Jeff's two teenage sons, EastEnders actor Bobby and his younger brother Freddie.
Kate now no longer follows her estranged husband's main Instagram account, while Jeff still follows his ex but hasn't liked any of her posts recently.
