Jeff Brazier says he fears his son Bobby will suffer the 'same pain' as his mum Jade Goody after finding fame at such a young age.
The EastEnders actor, 19, is making great strides on the soap, but Jeff, 43, says he knows the "hurt" the star's late mum went through and is "worried" it will happen to Bobby.
Bobby made headlines at the NTAs last week when he was photographed with a trio of women, including co-star Danielle Harold.
But father-of-two Jeff said he didn't welcome the attention.
“I don’t like it," he admitted.
“I just get nervous, because what do you imagine that triggers for me, given the experiences I had years and years ago with his mum?
"I know the hurt that we experienced as a result of certain scenarios and obviously don’t want my children to experience the same," reports The Sun.
Despite his worry, the TV presenter conceded that Bobby and brother Freddie, 18, are old enough to their do own thing, pointing out he's taught them to "navigate their lives in a way that works for them".
Jeff also praised Bobby for working hard in the industry, first as a model and now as an actor, so that he's not just known as "somebody's son".
Bobby's mum Jade shot to fame on Big Brother in 2002 before appearing on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007, where she was caught up in racism controversy.
Jade then took part in the Indian version of the show where she tragically found out she had cervical cancer.
The mum-of-two sadly died in 2009, aged 27.
Fans have always pledged their support for the star's children and praised Bobby's debut on EastEnders last month in which the actor is playing Freddie Slater.
Proud dad Jeff also paid tribute to his son, posting: "So proud. A wonderful moment for the whole family and anyone that has had this kid's back through it all. Thank you for supporting my children."
Bobby has no previous acting experience but has been a model for the likes of Dolce and Gabbana - and was offered an audition after show bosses saw his social media presence.
Speaking about the casting decision, EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw explained: "We're always looking for new talent. I saw Bobby's social media and we were already conceiving Freddie and building his character, and there was some of what I saw in Bobby that I thought would be perfect for Freddie - his energy, his twinkle, his spiritual side.
"So then we brought Bobby in to audition, along with some others, and he just blew us away with his performance. He is Freddie Slater."
