Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance recently made controversial remarks about Vice President Kamala Harris during a campaign event in Selma, North Carolina. Vance claimed that he and his running mate have never criticized Harris' voters, while simultaneously insinuating that Harris is 'trash' that needs to be removed from Washington, DC.

Vance stated, 'While I think it's ridiculous that Kamala Harris calls us garbage, I do think that in four days we ought to take out the trash in Washington, DC, and that is Kamala Harris and her failed leadership.' He also mentioned that President Donald Trump will be 'the president for all of us.'

Vance claimed he never criticized Harris' voters despite his derogatory comments.
JD Vance criticized Kamala Harris, calling for her removal from Washington, DC.
He falsely attributed a 'garbage' comment to Harris, which was actually made by Biden.

Despite his claims of not attacking Harris' voters, Vance's comments have drawn criticism for their divisive nature. Throughout his campaign, Trump has made disparaging remarks about various groups of voters, including Jewish Americans, Catholics, African Americans, and Hispanic Americans, suggesting that they should have their heads examined if they support Harris.

Vance also falsely stated that Harris called Trump supporters 'garbage,' when in fact it was President Biden who made a similar comment earlier in the week. Biden clarified that he was specifically referring to 'hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump's supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally.'

The ongoing rhetoric and attacks between political candidates highlight the intense polarization and divisiveness in the current political landscape. Such statements not only fuel animosity but also detract from substantive policy discussions and constructive dialogue.
