Vice President-elect JD Vance recently faced questions regarding his resignation from the Senate, following the certification of the 2024 election results. When asked about his resignation timeline, Vance responded with a playful, 'I don’t know, when do you think I should resign?' This response came as Vance exited the House floor after the joint session of Congress.
Despite the inquiries, Vance did not provide a clear answer on whether he plans to attend former President Jimmy Carter's funeral. Additionally, he remained silent on whether he would support Ohio Lt. Gov John Husted as his replacement in the Senate. Reports from CNN suggested that Husted is the frontrunner to take over Vance's Senate seat.
