JD Vance Denies Trump Would Use Military Against Opponents

Republican Ohio Senate candidate JD Vance speaks as Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump listens at a campaign rally at Wright Bros. Aero Inc. at Dayton International

Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance recently addressed concerns regarding former President Donald Trump's comments about potentially using the military to handle the 'enemy from within' on Election Day. Vance assured the public that Trump would not target those who oppose him in a second administration using the military.

During an event in Pittsburgh, Vance responded to questions about Trump's remarks, stating that it would not be the case. Trump had previously described the 'enemy within' as a more significant threat than immigrants, labeling them as 'bad people' and 'sick people.' He suggested that if necessary, the National Guard or military could be used to address the situation.

Vance also emphasized the need for accountability, mentioning that individuals involved in the violence on January 6, 2021, should face prosecution. He pointed out the media's focus on the Capitol riot and highlighted the riots and looting that occurred during the summer protests following George Floyd's death.

Trump, on the other hand, continued to downplay the severity of the January 6 attack, referring to it as a 'day of love' and denying any wrongdoing on his part.
