Former President Trump has advocated for new tariffs of up to 20% on all foreign imports entering the US, as well as tariffs exceeding 60% on Chinese imports. In response, the Biden administration recently increased tariffs on various Chinese-made products, including imposing a 100% tariff on electric vehicles.
