JD Sports has hired the CFO of Compare the Market's owner as its new finance chief.
Dominic Platt has been appointed as chief financial officer and as a member of the board and is expected to join later this year.
Mr Platt is currently CFO of BGL Group and has previously held senior finance roles at Darty Plc, where he was group finance director and managing director of international businesses, and at Cable and Wireless Plc both in the UK and internationally.

He is an independent non-executive director at N Brown Group and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
JD Sport's current CFO, Neil Greenhalgh, will leave the business later in the summer.
