JD Sports has outlined its plans for its Wellgosh store in Nottingham after the company announced it would be closing its Wellgosh shops after more than 35 years in business. JD Sports has three stores operating under the brand across the Midlands, including in Clumber Street.
Wellgosh started out as an independent clothes shop in Leicester but was bought by JD Sports in January 2021. Wellgosh confirmed it would be closing in a statement on Tuesday, February 28.
"It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the closing down of Wellgosh. For over 35 years, Leicester has been the beating heart of our brand and we are grateful to our store teams and the dedicated community that we have created. Our website and stores will close shortly," it said.
