Ice skating and ice dancing can be very dangerous - and perhaps no one knows this more than professional ice dancer and Dancing on Ice judge Jayne Torvill. This evening, Jayne, best known as one-half of Olympic-winning ice dancing duo Torvill and Dean, has appeared on Dancing on Ice with her arm in a sling.
Jayne shot to success when she won gold at the 1984 Winter Olympics with her professional partner Christopher Dean. And since 2006 Jayne and Christopher have been part of the ITV1 Sunday night entertainment show Dancing on Ice where they help coach, and now judge, celebrities as they learn how to ice skate and dance.
On Sunday, February 26's show Jayne appeared with her arm in a glittery green sling that matched her sparkly green dress. Chatting to host of Phillip Schofield, Jayne explained she had injured her arm and needs to have surgery.

She said: "Talking of things going wrong on the ice, I've injured my bicep tendon so I need to get surgery...I am going to have to have surgery," while Christopher joked: "I am studying up for it!"
Jayne added: "I'll be fine and we will be back on the ice soon". It is believed that Jayne's injury happened very recently as videos from her helping the celebrities earlier in the week show her without the sling.
It's "props week" on Dancing on Ice this week, meaning each dancing couple has to incorporate a large prop into their routine. The bizarre props have included a double bed and surfboard, and have been chosen to fit-in with each couple's routine and the music they're ice-dancing to.
The 'props' theme comes just a week after the show was flooded with complaints over its "poor taste" announcement during the show. Viewers criticised the way one dance was introduced with a breaking news announcement, with many viewers finding the scenes "rude" and in "poor taste," in light of recent events on the news including the tragic case of missing mum Nicola Bulley.
