Jayden Daniels was brilliant as the Washington Commanders surprised the Cincinnati Bengals, 38-33, on Monday night.
Daniels was 21-of-23 for 254 yards and two touchdown passes. His completion percentage was an NFL record for a rookie. He also rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown.
Daniels’ first NFL TD pass was to 320-pound offensive tackle Trent Scott. After the game the quarterback said he would keep the ball, not allowing the lineman to have it, though it was his first TD reception.
The clinching score was a magnificent play. Daniels’ pass was good for 27 yards with Terry McLaurin making a brilliant grab.
