Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels exited the team's game against the Seahawks with an injury on Sunday Night Football.
The Seahawks already had a 38–7 lead in the game when Daniels went down after trying to escape the Seattle defense in the fourth quarter. Daniels was surrounded by his teammates on the field, and multiple players tapped his helmet in support as he was helped off the field. The Commanders home crowd gave him a standing ovation as he headed off the field and into the locker room.

Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said after the game that Daniels sustained a left elbow injury, but did not have any further updates immediately after the game.
Quinn said that they did not consider pulling Daniels from the blowout loss before the drive he suffered his injury on. Quinn added that the play he was injured on was not a designed run, but a handoff or a throw.
After putting together arguably the greatest rookie season of all time and leading the Commanders to a the NFC championship game, it’s been an injury plagued campaign for the second-year quarterback and the Commanders. Daniels has already missed three games this season due to a hamstring injury and sprained left knee, and is now dealing with an elbow injury.
Marcus Mariota entered the game in relief of Daniels on Washington’s next possession. So far this season, Mariota has completed 63.6% of his passes for 639 yards, four touchdowns and four picks while filling in for Daniels.
With this loss, the Commanders fall to 3-6 on the year with games looming against the Lions, Dolphins and Broncos in the coming weeks. After an inspiring 2024 campaign for Commanders in their first year under Daniels and Quinn, just about everything has gone wrong this season in the nation’s capital.
