Rumour has it Jayde Adams had to be cut out of her outfit minutes before performing to her idol’s song on Strictly.
Despite the wardrobe disaster, the show went on and she was able to dance to the Adele hit in week two of the BBC competition.
After a quick fix, comedian Jayde, 37, and partner Karen Hauer, 40, performed the tango like nothing had happened.
Jayde revealed: “I had to be cut out of it. And then when it fell off it was so tight it flicked around and hit one of the girls in the face.
“We absolutely killed ourselves laughing. We had 20 minutes to stage time as well. It was really funny.”
Jayde recalled how she and Karen were waiting beside the dance floor watching their rivals when the embarrassing mishap occurred with the body stocking under her dress.
“I’m sat there and we’re watching the others and all of a sudden Karen notices I start going funny and she was like, ‘Are you OK?’ I’m in extreme pain. I need to go. So she calls over the floor manager. I go backstage.
“Underneath the outfit you’re all tight and when you dance you wear this tight thing and it’s got straps that go around my legs.
“I wore the straps between my legs the week before and they were fine. This week I told the girl putting me in it to go a bit tighter.
“What a mistake, because one of the straps started twisting and whilst it was twisting it took with it everything down there!”
Thankfully, it caused no lasting damage and Jayde was able to get on stage to perform to her idol’s music, scoring 26 out of 40.
Jayde used to be an Adele impersonator as she was coming up on the comedy scene.
This weekend they danced the American smooth to Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler.
Jayde and Karen have been lauded for their partnership. The pair say they bonded straight away.
“We cry all the time!” said Karen.
Jayde added: “We talk about life.
“We spray lavender oil on each other. There’s face masks. There’s a little potion that goes on me or we spray the rooms.”
Karen continued: “She walked in not feeling great and I was like, ‘Come on, freshen up, put some lipstick on and get your hair out’.
“And then literally it changed our moods.”
Jayde, from Bristol, has told how she was spurred on to success by her older sister Jenna’s death from a brain tumour aged 28.
