The Chicago Bulls haven’t been linked to Kevin Durant as the Nets superstar is searching for a new home, but ESPN’s Max Kellerman proposed a blockbuster trade on Tuesday that would see the former league MVP swapped for DeMar DeRozan.
According to Kellerman, the deal would leave the Nets with an All-Star caliber player in his prime, while still leaving the Bulls with enough talent to surround Durant with and compete for a title.
Nets receive: DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, Patrick Williams
Bulls receive: Kevin Durant
Williams, a former Bull, rejected the idea on Brooklyn’s behalf, arguing that the Bulls simply don’t have enough assets to offer to the Nets.
Max Kellerman: KD would go to Chicago who would still have Zach LaVine and, by the way, Lonzo Ball. What about that Jay?
Jay Williams: Nah. I don’t want Vucevic.
Max Kellerman: You’re not going to get Vucevic, they’ll flip him into some stuff that you might want.
Jay Williams: How many picks are you giving me?
Max Kellerman: [Chicago] doesn’t have any picks to trade.
Jay Williams: Nah, can’t do it. Can’t do it… We’re talking about a top three player in the NBA. Did you see what Donovan Mitchell was potentially going to go for to the Knicks?
