Jay Slater's mother says she is still being trolled almost two years after her son died.
The 19-year-old vanished from a remote part of Tenerife on 17 June 2024 after going to a music festival with friends.
A coroner ruled Jay’s death was caused by a traumatic brain injury caused by a fall when he became lost in Park Rural de Teno.
Despite the ruling, misinformation swirled online. Jay's mother, Debbie Duncan, has spoken out about still being "relentlessly" trolled almost two years later, as she campaigns for the government to introduce legislation requiring online platforms to remove misinformation targeting bereaved families.
A GoFundMe raised £72,791 before Jay's family closed donations, thanking supporters for enabling them to stay on the island until they could take their son's body home to the UK.
"I'm eternally grateful for all the help and support and the donations. We were really transparent with the people at GoFundMe," Ms Duncan told This Morning.
