Comedian and ITV Starstruck judge Jason Manford has taken to social media to thank his fans for the messages of support he and his family received after he posted the "heartbreaking" news that his grandmother, who he calls Nana Manford, was rushed to hospital at the age of 99. Now, he has updated his followers with the news that she is doing well and has "made it back home".
In the emotional post on March 19, Jason detailed how his Nana Manford had not been eating as she remained in hospital and wrote: "It’s heartbreaking if I’m honest, especially to see my dad upset. But we’re staying strong as a family, lots of laughs and spent more time than was necessary rubbing hand cream into those 99-year-old hands."
But now fans will be pleased to hear that Nana Manford, who last week managed to drink a McDonald's milkshake - "the only thing Nana Manford has consumed for a week" - is much better as Jason gave a heartwarming health update.

In a new post to his Instagram on Sunday, April 2, the 41-year-old West End performer captioned a series of images with: "So many of you have asked and checked in so I thought I’d let you know that against all odds Nana Manford has made it back home!
"Thankfully my dad has just retired, my auntie Sharon is a saint and my mum is a nurse so it means she’ll be well looked after by people that love her.
"Thanks to staff at Wythenshawe hospital who did their best under difficult circumstances & tough working environment!
Nana is 100 Dec 30th and she seems pretty determined to get there. Thanks again for all your kind messages! Bring on the Maccy d milkshakes."
And his followers couldn't contain their joy at this news as Jason's comments section was flooded with messages. One Instagram user wrote: "Ahhh that’s amazing news, best you get the milkshakes on daily delivery then so she can hit the century", while another said: "This is lovely news. Nana Manford is a little fighter x" A third penned on the social media platform: "AMAZING news so pleased to read this."
