Jason Manford has given a "heartbreaking" family health update to his fans as he tries to "stay strong".
The comedian, 41, took to Instagram to share a photo of him at his nan's bedside, explaining she was rushed to hospital at the age of 99.
Jason, who is currently on ITV1's Starstruck, sadly revealed Nana Manford is no longer eating as she remains in hopsital.
In the emotional update, Jason called the situation "heartbreaking".
"Unfortunately she's still in the hospital. Everyone is doing everything they can to get her home but she's just stopped eating (even when given a box of her favourite chocolates for Mother's Day!)," he wrote to his followers.
"Not sure why, she says she wants to come home, knows that eating will help this, but for whatever reason, maybe her dementia, she just won't eat."
Jason added: "It's heartbreaking if I'm honest, especially to see my dad upset. But we're staying strong as a family, lots of laughs and spent more time than was necessary rubbing hand cream into those 99-year-olds hands...thanks again for all your kindness in messages."
The comedian was flooded with supportive comments, including I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! star Ruthie Henshall who commented: "So much love. X"
Starstruck judge Beverley Knight said: "Huge love my Jase. Love to Nana" followed by a red love heart emoji.
A fan added: "Aww Jase sending you all lots of love and hope Nana is home soon xx" while another wrote: "Sending Nana Manford and your whole family strength and love. Thinking of you all, bless her xxx".
The 41-year-old stand-up star has four children with ex-wife Catherine; twin girls, a daughter and a son before he married second wife Lucy in 2017. The couple have two kids together.
However, he recently revealed he goes on tour to gain some relief from his six children.
Speaking to the Daily Star, the Starstruck judge said: "I do have six kids. What do you mean, ‘how do I tour?’ You’ve answered your own question. ‘Why do you tour?’ Why do you think!"
