The Philadelphia Eagles and their fans are saying goodbye to another one of their all-time great players after Fletcher Cox announced his retirement on Sunday.
The stalwart defensive tackle, who spent all 12 of his NFL seasons with the Eagles, made the announcement with a touching post on Instagram. A six-time Pro Bowler, Cox finished his career with 70 sacks.
Cox’s announcement came just days after former teammate Jason Kelce retired from the NFL. Kelce gave Cox some high praise on last week’s New Heights podcast episode, saying he was impossible to block one-on-one and that Cox’s career with the Eagles was much better than his.
"I couldn't block Fletcher Cox 1-on-1"
