Actor Jason Donovan has said he understands that expectations will be high when the final episode of hit Australian soap Neighbours airs in August.
Appearing on The One Show, Donovan was tight-lipped about any final twists and turns in the grand finale, but he did say it was going to be "emotional".
The welll-loved soap is coming to an end after being on air for some 37 years. Its last episode will feature appearances from Donovan and Kylie Minogue, playing their well-known characters Scott Robinson and Charlene Mitchell.
"I'm not going to give too much away about the episode," Donovan told hosts Alex Jones and Rylan Clark.
"But I can tell you it's going to happen, in what capacity, you are going to have to switch over to Channel 5 and watch."
The presenters continued to press Donovan for more details, with Rylan asking if the final scene involved Jason and Kylie arriving on Ramsay Street and announcing: "We're home!"
"I can't..." Jason said, clearly under strict orders not to reveal anything, before suggesting that the host "could be close" with that suggestion.
"There is a bit of denim involved, that's for sure!" he added. "It's a throwback to 1988."
Donovan added that, after nearly four decades of the show, filming for the final episode was particularly poignant. But now it was time for it to come to end.
"It was emotional but it's filming and you know, it moves on," he said. "You'll have to wait and see."
The star continued: "I hope people are not... What I do hope is that the expectations aren't too big."
Neighbours began in 1985 and it was confirmed earlier this year that it was be stopping production.
"We are so sorry to say that after nearly 37 years and almost 9000 episodes broadcast we have to confirm that Neighbours will cease production in June," the show said in a statement back in March.
"Following the loss of our key broadcast partner in the UK and despite an extensive search for alternative funding, we simply have no option but to rest the show.
"To our amazing, loyal fans, we know this is a huge disappointment, as it is to all of us on the team. We thank you for all your messages and support and promise to end the show on an incredible high. From here on, we are celebrating Neighbours."
