Former world No. 1 Jason Day has opened the door to a potential future move to the LIV Golf Series. A number of Day's fellow Australians have made the LIV switch, including the man behind the breakaway circuit, Greg Norman.
Day was one of the names hotly tipped to sign on the mega-money dotted line earlier this year, but has since continued to play his golf on the PGA Tour. Following his recent outing at the QBE Shootout, the Aussie was once again quizzed on if he'd make the jump.
And whilst he revealed his answer to Norman and Co was still a 'no', the former world No. 1 did admit things could well change further down the line.
Speaking to the Palm Beach Post , Day said: "I definitely would say no. I wouldn't go as of now. Who knows in a year's time, you might think differently." Those who have made the LIV switch have received plenty of criticism.
Day though did have some sympathy for the defectors, but admitted that the chance of missing out on major championships is enough to warn him off for now. He went on: "I don't blame some of the guys for going because there's quite a lot of money these guys are earning.
"I understand it. For me, it just depends on how you feel about major championships, and I know that's all up in the air right now if they're going to play or not, and they don't have world ranking points out there."
One of the biggest stars to make the LIV Golf move is Day's fellow Australian, and 2022 Open champion Cameron Smith. World No. 3 Smith is currently the highest ranking player on the Saudi circuit, and proved quite the signing for LIV after he joined just weeks after his triumph at St Andrews.

Whilst a number of relationships between players on the two sides of the sport's civil war have been broken, Day revealed he has remained pals with Smith despite his move. ""He's definitely a friend, we just haven't spoken," said the former world No. 1.
"All those guys out there are my friends. Some of the friendships fractured between some of the guys who have been more outspoken. I don't mind the guys leaving. I honestly wish the tours could join somehow. That would be great."
