Former Rangers striker Jason Cummings has boosted his chances of going to the World Cup with Australia by scoring for the Socceroos against New Zealand.
The forward moved to the A-League with Central Coast Mariners after a spell at Dundee earlier this year and has family links to the country, allowing him to pledge his allegiance to them after hitting form down under. Alongside Hearts' Cammy Devlin, he came off the bench to make his bow ahead of Graham Arnold picking his squad for Qatar 2022.
He netted a penalty to seal a 2-0 friendly win over New Zealand, and he couldn't be happier after the match: Described by the Australian national's team's twitter as 'one of the all-time great post-match interviews,' Rangers' former striker told Paramount: "I am absolutely buzzing. I was champing at the bit to try and get on. The boys have been different class.

"I just wanted on. I got a good 30 minutes. I caught a shot well and the boy handballed, fuming. He gave the penalty and I had to finish off my dinner.
"Buzzing. It's a striker's dream. I will go and put the ball in the net, not a problem. It's my dream (to play in the World Cup ). I just need to go back with the Mariners now, work hard, do well, score goals and you just never know."
Cummings spent time on loan at Rangers in 2018 from Nottingham Forest, before spending more time in the EFL and returning north for the first time since leaving Ibrox to Dundee prior to his Central Coast Mariners switch.
