Jarrod Bowen starts, Kurt Zouma decision: Predicted West Ham XI vs Newcastle United

David Moyes has a decision to make regarding Kurt Zouma after the defender missed out against Leicester City with illness and Issa Diop stepping up superbly.

Zouma is in contention for a start after returning to training this week and Moyes will be forced into a tough call between the pair to partner Craig Dawson at the heart of the Hammers defence.

The French international is likely to get the nod with Moyes naming him in last week's starting XI only for Zouma to withdraw just 25 minutes before kick-off. The manager will also be debating which full-backs to start against Newcastle after both Aaron Cresswell and Vladimir Coufal struggled last time out.

Cresswell was culpable for conceding a needless first-half penalty whilst the pair were equally at fault for Ricardo Pereira's second-half header. Despite their torrid afternoon at the King Power Stadium Moyes is expected to retain faith in both his experienced defenders with Ben Johnson and Ryan Fredericks alternatives should he wish to mix things up.

Behind the backline, Lukasz Fabianksi is set to continue in goal with Alphonse Areola in reserve if required.

Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek will dovetail in the heart of midfield, with Rice donning the captain's armband once more.

The attacking quartet could see one change with Said Benrahma's cameo off the bench vs Leicester City putting him in contention for a start. The Algerian had three shots and looked lively during his 11-minute appearance and could challenge Pablo Fornals for a start.

However, the Spaniard offers greater protection to Cresswell and this could be vital in nullifying the threat of Ryan Fraser down the Newcastle right.

Manuel Lanzini, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio look assured of their starts with Moyes delighted with the form of Bowen and praising Antonio and Lanzini's recent performances.

West Ham predicted XI: Fabianski; Coufal, Dawson, Zouma, Cresswell; Rice, Soucek; Bowen, Lanzini, Fornals; Antonio
