Jared Goff has not forgotten his California roots. The Detroit Lions starting quarterback proved it with a recent gesture.
As noted by Mike Silver, Goff generously bought state championship rings for his high school alma mater, Marin Catholic, in California. The Wildcats captured the state football title and the proud alumnus made sure they’ll always remember the achievement.
It’s the latest example of Goff’s generous nature. He’s quietly done a lot of charitable work and provided donations to several Detroit-area causes since being acquired in a trade from the Los Angeles Rams less than a year ago. Good job, Jared!
Before @JaredGoff16 was a @UCBerkeley grad, he was a proud graduate of Marin Catholic high school. The Wildcats just won a California state title. Today the players got the news that they'll all receive state championship rings, courtesy of the @Lions QB. Very cool. @CalAthletics
