Japan has crashed out of the top 10 overseas destinations for Chinese travellers during the country’s week-long National Day holiday, as relations between Beijing and Tokyo remain strained over Taiwan.
Golden Week marks the anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and is one of the country’s busiest travel periods, starting on 1 October and lasting until 7 October. Chinese authorities expect about 2.13 billion passenger trips during the holiday period.
