Janice Robinson is ready to step back into the spotlight as she re-releases her '90s banger Dreamer.
The iconic dance anthem by Livin' Joy is still heard in nightclubs around the UK almost 30 years since it first dropped and now the 54-year-old has added a modern twist to the tune as she prepares to share her "positive vibration" with a new generation.
The songstress - who still lives by the song's motto of love life and laughter - hopes to entertain a whole new audience after collaborating with DJ Lodato to add a new dimension to the anthem.
Speaking to The Mirror, she said: "It’s so nice to release it on a new generation and to see how they bond with it - it’s for the new kids."
Janice, who is currently working as a teacher stateside, also hopes the newest edition of the smash hit can help other stars who have become "jaded" with the industry understand that time away is just "a part of building your tapestry".
The mum-of-two admitted it's easy for people to "go away and never come back," but believes her latest comeback can show newer artists there can be a longevity to your career even when you're not number one.
"Kids today want everything instantly," she admitted. "I'm just showing them to never give up."
She insisted you should "always be ready for the magical moments of life" and added: "You must appreciate them when they’re here and be okay when they’re gone and that’s what I’m learning to enjoy about my life."
Janice also revealed that her career is now more special as she has key people closer to her who are inspired by her story and proud of her journey.
Janice put her career on hold to make sure she was there for her children in their formative years and to also look after her ill parents, who were diagnosed with kidney failure and congestive heart failure.
Now, following the sad passing of her mum and dad and seeing her daughters enter their teen years - Kura, 19, and Amaya, 13 - she's ready to roll back the years.
She admits her comeback is giving her children, as well as her school students, an "amazing feeling".
"It gives a lot of people an inspiration for themselves," she proudly revealed.
She added: "When you have that organic gift of bringing people joy, it don’t matter what year, what era it is. I’m showing back up in 2022. I wrote Dreamer in 1993.
"I love to see people smile. I love to see people happy when they hear my music."
